Why khwanjaa Legal
What makes
the difference
for your family.
Good family law support is not about speed or volume — it is about working carefully with the right people, in the right way, at the right pace.
Back to HomepageCore Advantages
Six things we do differently.
Time belongs to you
We do not bill by the hour. Each service is a fixed fee, so you can take the time you need to read documents, think through decisions, and come back to us with questions — without watching a meter run.
Plain-language documents
Every agreement and every note we produce is written to be read and understood by the people it concerns — not by other lawyers. Jargon is removed where it adds nothing. Technical terms are explained when they cannot be avoided.
Both parties are central
In every service we offer — mediation, cohabitation agreements, and estate planning — both partners or family members are treated as equally important. We do not represent one side against another.
Discretion as a foundation
Family matters are private by nature. Everything discussed in our office, and everything in writing between us, stays between us — unless all parties agree otherwise. This is not a policy; it is the basis of how we work.
Cross-border experience
We regularly advise families where one or both partners hold foreign nationality, or where assets are held across different countries. Our team understands how Thai law sits alongside other legal frameworks.
Preventive rather than reactive
The clearest and most useful legal work in family matters is done calmly, before difficulties arise. We focus on helping families put thoughtful structures in place at a moment of their own choosing.
Professional Expertise
Thai family law, understood in depth.
Family law in Thailand operates within a distinct legal tradition. The Civil and Commercial Code provisions on marriage and property, the rules governing inheritance, and the frameworks for cohabitation outside marriage have their own logic — and their own complexities for international families.
Our team has worked within this system for many years, across a wide range of family situations. That depth of practice means we can explain your legal position clearly and help you make decisions that are well-informed and properly recorded.

Process & Method
A clear path through unfamiliar territory.
Every service at khwanjaa Legal follows a defined sequence — an initial conversation to understand your situation, a preparatory stage where materials and agendas are agreed, the work itself, and a review stage where outcomes are confirmed in writing.
At each point, you know exactly where you are in the process and what comes next. Nothing proceeds until both parties have had the opportunity to read and respond to what is in front of them.
Initial consultation
We listen to your situation and explain which service might be suitable and how it works.
Preparation together
Agendas, inventories, or draft documents are prepared and shared with both parties before the main work begins.
The session or drafting
The core work is completed at a pace set by the family, not the firm.
Written record shared
All outcomes are put in writing and shared with both parties for home reading and quiet reflection.
Client Experience
Support that feels like support.
Family matters are rarely just legal matters. People come to us at moments that are often emotionally significant — sometimes uncertain, sometimes worrying. We try to make every interaction feel calm, unhurried, and genuinely attentive to what is being said.
Questions are welcome at any stage. If something in a document is unclear, we will rewrite it. If you need more time to think, that is what the time is for. We are available Monday to Saturday and respond to messages within one working day.
What clients tell us they value most
- Never feeling rushed to make a decision
- Receiving documents they could actually read and understand
- Knowing the fee before work began, with no surprises
- Having both partners' concerns addressed equally
- The sense that the meeting was for them, not for the file
Value & Pricing
Fixed fees, clear scope.
All three services carry a fixed fee. You know the cost before you commit to anything, and the fee does not change because a session runs longer or a draft requires another revision.

What sets us apart
Distinctions that matter.
Agenda-first mediation
Before any mediation session, both partners agree in writing on the topics the session will cover. This removes the stress of not knowing what will be raised and gives both people time to prepare their thoughts at home, before they are in the room.
Annual review for estate plans
Family estate pre-planning at khwanjaa Legal includes a short annual review schedule built into the service. As the family's situation changes — assets, family members, priorities — the plan can be adjusted gently without starting the process again from scratch.
Bilingual practice
All services are available in English and Thai. For mixed-language couples, sessions can be conducted so that both partners follow the conversation in their stronger language. Documents can be prepared in English, Thai, or both, depending on what the couple needs.
Post-session reading copies
After every session or drafting milestone, both parties receive a plain-language written summary of what was discussed and what was agreed. This is designed to be read quietly at home, not in the room — giving space for reflection before any next step is decided.
